FREE CANADA DAY CONCERT IN TORONTO!

Julian Taylor Band Canada Day

Join the band as we celebrate the birth of our home and native land on Friday July 1st at East Lynn Park. We’ll be playing two sets – at 7:00pm and 8:15pm. It’s a free show, and it’s all ages! Bring a blanket and the family, and we’ll cross our fingers that the excellent forecast holds.

The park is on the south side of Danforth Avenue just West of Woodbine. It’s a three minute walk from Woodbine subway station.

CBC Fresh Air

Julian Taylor & Jeremy Elliott @ CBC Fresh Air

If you missed JT and Jeremy on CBC Radio 1 Fresh Air this morning, don’t fret! Here’s the interview: the tunes we performed aren’t included, likely due to a licensing thing. Thanks to Mary Ito and the whole crew at Fresh Air for having us!

SHOWS AND ALBUM UPDATE

There is a moment every spring where I wonder if perhaps this is the year that summer doesn’t come. But I know it will, and one of the signs that summer is coming is that we get to announce all these fun outdoor shows that we’ll be playing. You can get all the details in the tourdates section, but here’s a quick rundown:

Saturday May 28th: Julian plays a solo acoustic set at the venerable CBC Music Fest. The lineup is amazing, and you can find tickets here.

Sunday June 19th: The band treks West to Burlington to play the Sound Of Music Festival at the beautiful Spencer Smith Park, right on the Waterfront. This is a free show, and the band is on at 2:15pm. It’s worth making a day of it – you can enjoy Sunny Days with Lighthouse, gritty Hamilton rock with Junkhouse, and top it all off with I Mother Earth, reunited with Edwin after 18 years. And it’s free!

Friday July 1: The band plays a free outdoor Canada Day show at East Lynn park in Toronto’s East end. We’re planning to make anyone who travelled to cottage country for the long weekend very sorry that they made that terrible choice.  Continue reading →
